Professor Luna Forté (루나 포르테, Runa Poreute) is the mother of Reana Forté and Ras Forté and a well-known researcher of the Royal Academy. Ten years prior to the series, she divorced her husband, Roy Forté, and pursued her career in the capital.
Appearance[]
She appears as a beautiful middle-aged woman with light-brown hair and pink eyes. She had cut the sides of her to her shoulders, leaving only her back hair long, and she would tie it behind her. She wears pants, a grey dress shirt, and is often seen with a lab coat.
Personality[]
Initially, Luna is depicted as a fairly cold, curt woman who highly prioritises her work.

Her cold personality stems from a deep sorrow over losing her "Light" and consequently becoming a human. She was saddened having to settle with a human and give birth to human children, thus delved deeply into her research. After she's freed from a containment chamber of the Rochards', she is in denial of Reana being her daughter, not recognising her. She also claims to feel no sympathy for the deaths within their family, yet is seen panicking about them as soon as she wakes up moments before. Throughout the series, she and Reana gradually grow closer. The air around them is awkward, and Luna maintains a precise distance from Reana, however, after Loenkant Frihanov Pahel sentences Reana to death, Luna expresses concern for Reana when she's kept inside a cage, giving her food and advice. She becomes rather protective and defensive of Reana, yet, despite her confident personality, one altercation with her past leaves Luna in shock. Her affection and care for Reana truly shows when she stands up against Eren, using her Branch of Light to protect Reana against Eren's Witch of the Night. She feels sorrow over how downward Eren's mental state and nature has gone, and is saddened when he completely succumbs to the Parasitoid, and later wanted to say goodbye one last time to him while Reana purified those trapped within the Guardian Tree. |
History[]

In the past, she was an adventurous and bold Akoom and was old friends with Via; they both found Dark in a cavernous area and befriended him as well. She was curious of many things and had often travelled through the Door of Dimensions to visit Edward Carter, a human professor of the Royal Academy who provided her information on many things. However, after Tashia Rochard attacked and forcibly humanised her, she was devastated with losing her "Light", sobbing to an unaffected Dark and left the Akoom tribe after throwing her headpiece to the ground. After sometime roaming on the lands without food or water, she collapsed on the ground. A young human boy found her not long and offered her water and hospitality. |
A decade before the start of Abide in the Wind, she and her husband, Roy Forté, had divorced. She took their eldest child, Ras Forté, and left for the capital in order to continue on her research. Her husband kept the youngest, Reana Forté, and stayed in Middle.
At some point in her time working in Hollan she coincidentally met Eren Rochard. Not long after, she became the Contractor of Branch of Light. Under kingdom laws, only Dragon Knights are allowed to have Dragon Artifacts, however due to Eren's connections, the court made her an exception. Though this situation created an uproar with the military, no one further pursued the case.
Her most impressive research is the Brunhart (브륀하르트, Beurwinhareuteu) project, a gigantic flying ship that uses Dragon Artifacts to take flight.
Plot[]
Season 1 Episode 1: Riyenas[]
Luna is introduced from Reana's memories as being a genius more capable than her husband; many people in Middle speculated that their divorce was due to their differences in intellect. Ras decided to go with their mother and both moved to the capital whereas Reana and Roy stayed in Middle. The family have not been in contact with each other for ten years.
When Prince Reihart finds a hidden old family photograph, he recognizes 'Professor Forté' in the family portrait.
Season 1 Episode 4: Taturang[]
As Reana and Penny discuss about books, Reana remembers Luna years back retorting about knowledge being a great value and paramount weapon.
Relationships[]
Reana Forté[]
Though it's unknown about their interaction, Reana loved her mother very much, and wanted to see her again. She bears a slight grudge for her leaving the family.

When they finally meet years later, Luna disappointedly tells her daughter that she does not feel sympathy for her family's deaths (although it is speculated among fans that this may be a ruse as she was shown panicking about their deaths when she awoke from her slumber). |
Roy Forté[]
He was Luna's husband. It is still unknown for their separation, but the villagers suspected it was because Roy wasn't able to help Luna with her work.
It is hinted that in the past he saved her from starvation and being lost after she was exiled from her tribe.
Ras Forté[]
She took him with her when her and her husband split. Like her son, she graduated from The Royal Academy and became a professor there.
